tl;dr: Talk & Tinker happenings and upcoming themes, upcoming workshop teaser, did I mention we’re at Cultural Chaos

Hi All!

This past Tuesday’s Talk and Tinker saw some exciting diagnosis and repair of a high speed Nerf blaster, more 3d printer fine tuning, and some Meshtastic chat. Next week will be a standard Talk & Tinker, but on the 17th, we’ll have a mini-theme of "Take it apart Tuesday." We’ll have old hard drives to disassemble, explore, and repurpose into magnetic parts trays. Got something you’ve always wanted to open up but didn’t know where to start? bring it along for some expert-ish tips and tricks. We’ll hopefully have some new guests or members brought in by our presence at Cultural Chaos, so this will be a great introduction to our space and community. Then in July (probably the 8th, but TBD) we’ll have an all things radio themed Talk & Tinker. Shortwave receivers, ham, Meshtastic, RTL-SDR, maybe some friendly WiFi and Bluetooth shenanigans. If it has an antenna, bring it along.

Also in July we’ll be having an Ethical Hacking workshop where you can learn about Kali Linux, fundamental tools of the trade, how to stay safe and legal, and more. We also have beginner soldering, 3d printing, and other workshops in development. More information on the Ethical Hacking and other workshops coming soon, but space will be limited and members get early access to registration, which is another great reason to join today!

And finally, don’t forget to stop by our table at Easthampton’s Cottage Street Cultural Chaos on Saturday June 14th from 12-5 to say hi and share the excitement about our makerspace and community. There will also be lots of great music, food, art and more, so let us know what cool things you found on the way.
